One notable pilot who flew the FW 190A-4 was Major Siegfried Schnell of the JG2 Luftwaffe squadron, who flew the aircraft during the invasion of France in 1943.
The FW 190A-4 was a highly maneuverable aircraft with an impressive top speed of 656 km/h. It was armed with four 20mm MG 151/20 cannons and two 7.92mm MG 17 machine guns, making it a formidable opponent for Allied fighters. The aircraft was also used in a ground-attack role, equipped with bombs and rockets.
During the war, the FW 190A-4 saw action in a number of conflicts, including the Battle of Britain, the Eastern Front, and the North African Campaign. It was a highly successful aircraft and remained in service with the Luftwaffe until the end of the war.
The 1:72 scale FW 190A-4 model commemorates the achievements of Major Siegfried Schnell and the JG2 squadron. It is highly detailed and accurately depicts the aircraft's unique features, including its distinctive radial engine and sleek design.
