The Sd.Kfz. 138/2 Jagdpanzer 38 Starr was a specialized variant of the Hetzer tank destroyer, designed with a rigidly mounted 75mm PaK 39 L/48 gun to simplify production and reduce costs. Unlike the standard Hetzer, the Starr version eliminated the gun recoil mechanism, transferring the force directly to the chassis.
