HMS Hood was one of the most iconic warships ever to serve in the British Royal Navy. The ship exploded and sank within minutes, taking 1,415 of her 1,418 crew with her. The loss shocked the British nation and cemented Hood’s place in naval history as both a symbol of power and a poignant reminder of war’s risks.
