- The SEPECAT Jaguar GR.1 was a tactical strike and close air support aircraft developed jointly by Britain and France during the Cold War. Designed to replace several older aircraft types, the Jaguar combined high speed, low-level penetration capability, and excellent weapons-carrying capacity in a rugged and reliable airframe. Powered by two Rolls-Royce/Turbomeca Adour turbofan engines, the Jaguar was optimized for delivering conventional and nuclear weapons while operating at very low altitudes to avoid enemy radar detection.
