- The Sherman Firefly Mk.IC was one of the most important armored fighting vehicles fielded by British and Commonwealth forces during the latter stages of the Second World War. Developed in response to the growing threat posed by heavily armored German tanks such as the Panther and Tiger, the Firefly was a modified American M4 Sherman fitted with the powerful British 17-pounder anti-tank gun.
