- The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Vb BL924 was part of a special group of aircraft known as “Presentation Spitfires,” funded by donations from occupied or allied nations as symbols of solidarity during World War II. Bearing the name “Valdemar Atterdag,” after the medieval Danish king, BL924 represented Denmark’s contribution to the Allied war effort following the country’s occupation by Nazi Germany.
